Job Title: Safety, Health, and Environmental Management Faculty
Job Summary/Basic Function:

Reports to the Division Chair, Physical Sciences and Process Technologies; prepares curriculum, including writing syllabi, developing new courses, selecting textbooks, etc.; develops and teaches safety classes using traditional and alternative delivery methods; assists in the advisement of students; serves on various assigned college committees; *CCPI

Pay Rate: Nine-month, non-tenure track position; salary follows approved salary structure; commensurate with education and experience; summer teaching available as needed; excellent fringe benefits.

Physical Demands:

Standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, kneeling, crouching, bending, twisting, climbing, visions, hearing, talking, and ability to drive to off campus locations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Safety, Health, and Environmental Management. Bachelor’s or master’s degree desirable in Environmental Safety or a closely related field (e.g., industrial engineering, environmental science, or chemistry) from a regionally accredited college or university; if the applicant has an Associate’s degree, he or she must also have a minimum of three years working as a safety director or primary responsibilities for safety (in an industrial setting desirable); demonstrated evidence of successful teaching experience desirable; interest in alternative instructional delivery methods; demonstrated ability in working with culturally diverse populations; excellent written and oral communication skills; other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one’s value to the institution; exceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration.

Desirable Qualifications:

Work experience in industrial setting desirable; bachelor’s or master’s degree in an environmental or safety area.
